Don’t Worry

Philippians 4:6-7 NLT

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

It’s been a while since I’ve written anything on my blog. 2020 has been quite a year for all of us and I am certainly no exception. My employer and I parted ways amicably in March due to my position moving to Chicago and my refusal to make that move because it would mean leaving my son behind. While I knew it was going to happen, I certainly didn’t foresee that it would happen at the beginning of COVID!

As a responsible adult, I live life with some financial cushion. I had savings and live relatively modestly. However, I wasn’t prepared for the length of this “sabbatical.” I’ve had my share of anxiety-ridden moments over the past many months. But it always comes back to my blueprint for life… the Bible. What does God say to do in these situations?

God says not to worry about ANYTHING. OK. Sure. Sounds great – but how do we do that? He says to tell him what you need and then thank Him for all He has done. The way I interpret that verse is to tell Him what I need and thank Him for providing it. In other words, thank Him as if it’s done. That honors Him because you are speaking in faith back to your Father who has promised to take care of you. And, that strengthens you because you are speaking solutions with belief and finality instead of worrying over problems.

I’m a practical application kind of girl. So, I need to know what this actually looks like and sounds like. So, a very real example for me right now is this:

“Heavenly Father ~ I love you and I thank you for loving me. Thank you for all of the amazing ways you show your love to me every single day. Lord, you know even better than I do what’s going on in my life right now and for me, this is overwhelming. I am thankful that it’s not overwhelming for you. Lord, your grace is sufficient for me and I am asking that you open the storehouses of heaven and let your blessing and favor fall down on me. I am asking that you provide financial blessing to wipe my debt out, Lord. I speak that my debt is wiped out and paid in full by you. Lord, I thank you for hearing me. I thank you for providing for me. I thank you for being my Father and taking this burden from me. I thank you that I can hand it over to you and rest in the confidence that it’s taken care of and that I don’t have to worry about it anymore. Thank you, Father, for answered prayers and for peace that surpasses all understanding.”

Whatever you are struggling with right now – whatever is causing you anxiety – take it to your heavenly Father who loves you so much. Tell Him what you need AND thank Him for providing it. That’s how you manifest miracles in your life. I’m working on manifesting a few of my own right now so let’s join hands in the spirit and believe together. Wait and see what He will do!

Blessings,

Kathy
